Hope's Only Hope

Here are some thoughts, its time to get real, 

Perhaps let your guard down and believe what you feel 

Because just like saying, “I’ll see you again” 

Hope is most felt in the immortality of men

We want it to last, we want to have hope 

Our heart screams for more, but logic says “nope." 

Do they live on? Is my nanny really gone? 

After a dusk is there a new dawn?

& What about Jesus? Cause here’s what we’ve heard 

That he died on a cross arms spread like a bird 

The death that was due, the one that I deserved, 

Was suddenly taken by a stranger to the earth 

I mean I’ve heard people talk about sinners like me, 

But I choose me because I want to be free.

It's always been that way since time began 

When God took dirt and made it be a man 

Adam and Eve wanted to see 

They wanted control, wanted to be free 

This is nothing new, this pain that I feel 

-Nothin that I can't handle with a joint or a pill 

But truth is I'm dying and I wish there was help 

Treading water so quick I look like Michael Phelps  

If Jesus really died and rose on day three, 

Then why can't I see Him on the daily? 

I kinda believe, even got a cross neckless 

But I look at my life and this crap's still reckless 

…If there's no resurrection like it’s said, 

Then not even Jesus is raised from the dead. 

But If there's eternity because of Christ 

If I believe that he died and paid my price...

Then tomorrow ain’t nothing, death lost its sting. 

Lord I want You and all that You bring.

Where I used to say Me, I'm a big deal 

I now can say “God, show me your will!” 

..When you stop and give the logic a thought

You might accidentally like it a lot

And find that the Bible is our last rope 

And we better grab on ‘cause it’s hope's only hope!
