The name “Further” actually came from the last book of the Chronicles of Narnia. You’ll have to read it for yourself if you want to see that quote. But I believe C. S. Lewis, in all his writing, does the most fantastic job of putting not only the magic of scripture into words, but also the infiltration of that magic into our daily lives. That is the heart of “Further.” Overtime, it has been a book, it has been a podcast, and it has been a team of writers on Facebook. I may never work on this project again in writing, but it’s impact on my life is in everything I do and believe. Below I’ve pulled my favorite quote from each book in the series and paralleled it with the narrative of scripture.

All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance, admitting that they were foreigners and strangers on earth. People who say such things show that they are looking for a country of their own. If they had been thinking of the country that had left, they would have had opportunity to return. Instead, they were longing for a better country- a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.
